Landscapes
“There is something particularly fascinating about seeing places you know in a piece of art - be that in a film, or a photograph, or a painting.”
― Sara Sheridan
Every time I feel a connection to a location, I instantly want to draw it. Whether it's a building, on a hiking trail, or a landmark, I want to capture its essence. When I first started drawing landscapes, I was studying abroad in Ireland. It was satisfying to see how I could convey the location's energy in the drawing.
When I do commissions for locations, I want to be there and see it for myself. However, if it's a place abroad that I can't go to, I will ask about how it felt to be there. Ultimately, that is my goal in all my landscapes. It's not just to show the place, but to convey the feeling of being there too.
